Pain/discomfort under right rib cage.

I have been experiencing this for the last few months, I have been searching the web looking for answers.  I am a 45 year old female, in good health, I take no medications, thin, active, I eat healthy, so I am at a loss. I have this feeling like there is something under my right rib cage as if something is stuck underneath or enlarged. At first I thought I had strained a muscle b/c I had been working out in the yard the day before it started. It doesn't hurt, it just feels like there is something there that shouldn't be but when I touch the area there is no swelling or bulge. After about 3-4 weeks when it wasn't going away I went to see my doctor. They did blood work, urine labs and sent me for an ultrasound of gallbladder, all came back normal. I have no other symptoms like nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, etc. just this feeling like something is there. It seemed to go away on it's own and then came back and has come and gone since sometimes lasting a few days, sometimes a few weeks. When it is back wearing a bra is uncomfortable. Sometimes there is a warmth or burning sensation in the area. The only other symptoms I have had that I think are related are these: A few months before this started I experienced a fluttering sensation, almost like when I was pregnant and the baby moved, in the same location, a couple of times. Since this has started, on 3 or 4 different occasions, I have experienced a charlie horse like spasm in the same area, below the right rib, when bending over from a sitting position. Does anyone have any answers as to what this might be?  Does it sound like IBS? Peptic Ulcer? Hiatal Hernia?

I have had the same symptoms for almost a year, I have been put on omeprazole to see if it’s stomach ulcers, seems to be helping a little... but it is so frustrating.

I don't know if anyone here has figured this out but I think I have. I have severe health anxiety and have to research until i find an understanding of my issues when something happens with my health. Anyways 4 weeks ago I woke with pressure below my right ribs. Not really pain, more of a fullness like a babys foot wedged up in there or like something knotted up. And i dont notice it all day but if i sit down and lean forward or to the side its like my rib gets caught or something. Doctor felt and said normal sized liver, cbc and liver panel labs all normal. Waiting for ultrasound but im sure it will be normal. Anyways, here it is....look up MS hug. It can happen with or without having ms and seems to be caused my spinal inflammation.

Ive spent weeks trying to research what is going on with me and this post seems to explain it.

I feel like there is something under my ribs and it can take my breath away a bit, I wouldn't say I struggle to breathe but it seems more effort.

The feeling mainly isn't painful it's just really blooming irritating. The dull pain in my flanks and lower back is pretty constant In the evening.

TMI (sorry) but i also getting little bubble feeling.and strange sensations like baby kicking and can feel something move about, I wonder if this is maybe gas or stools passing through my intestines).

It feels so much like a pregnancy, even at night when I'm lying in bed I just can't get comfy, it's like when I was pregnant and feels like the baby is poking out of my skin.

I've even had times where my bladder has felt urgent to go too.

sitting up is also uncomfortable and driving is the worst. would love to know if you got some answers?

i have this exact thing !!! Wow its like you're writing my exact symptoms. I'm in the middle of being tested for slipped rib syndrome and this is inly because i have searched online high and low and everything seems to point to this. but as it's so rare the NHS most of them have never even heard of it. text book stuff.

Have a look lovely i hope you get sorted I'm a year down the line and was literally seen by an advanced physio today and even she needs to go and do some research and discuss with colleagues.

Reading all these posts is crazy! I thought I was alone 😛

I've had a bunch of symptoms: bubbles under my ribs on the right side sometimes at the top but can be lower. When I lie on that side it feels like something is under me, like my duvet is folded over under me.

My ribs on that side can be tender to touch and feel bruised all way from front to back.

When I sit or hunch over it feels like something is popping out, or like my internal organs are squished up and fighting for space.

I also get sharp stabbing pains in my ribs on the same right side for a few mins at a time, worsens if I breathe in.

I get weird dull pain, like a bubble trying to get out, travelling up my chest into my jaw.

    Acid reflux, bloating and gas.

All these have been on/off for about 2 1/2 years. I had various bloods, CT, ultrasound, MRI, 2x colonoscopies and endoscopy - the endoscopy found a hiatus hernia & the ultrasound said my liver was a bit fatty. Some of the bloods found inflammation, but no clue from what.

So far Drs have been very good but have no firm idea what the issue is (other than some of the symptoms being explained by the hernia, but they said they don't think it could effect my right side). I've got a final ultrasound (a repeat of the 1st one) but after that he's referring me on to a pain clinic.

N.B. all this was on the NHS from 2021 onwards, I've found it smooth, quick and easy (though I'm in London, I've heard issues can be regional).

I'll update if I get any further.
