Pain during ovulation since peri started?

Posted , 10 users are following.

Ever since starting perimenopause, during or around ovulation, I have been having horrible pain in my pelvic/ovary area and severe gas pain and bloating in my stomach during this time. The gas pain and bloating felt like stabbing pains and put me into tears yesterday. I had to take GasX and ibuprofen to get rid of it yesterday. I do have an ovarian cyst, but have had it for years and never had issues with ovulation pain until peri started. In addition to the pain, right after ovulation, my anxiety jumps thru the roof, then my mood can get low. Anybody else going thru this?

    Hi Snowbell,

Sorry you are going through this pain during ovulation. You are not alone. I have been enduring this same pain for the past year. I have been going through peri for awhile. This pain during ovulation is really painful and uncomfortable. You described it perfectly. I have never had painful periods or ovulation so this pain is definitely new. I do have some fibroids an enlarged uterus and have had some ovaian cysts, which I know doesn't help the situation. The doctors all say these are all normal during perimenopause. The pelvic pain, back pain, leg pain, stomach pain, cramping, bloated, gassy, nauseaus, dizziness, exhausted feeling during ovulation is terrible. You are not alone Snowbell. I have read that these are common symptoms during perimenopause unfortunately. I am going through them right now. Hang in there hope you feel better soon

My anxiety is also going crazy right now too. Anxious about everything. Don't want to do anything or go anywhere. Peri is so much fun isn't it..

This might be something called mittelschmerz which is quite common and nothing to worry about.  Have a google.  I get it sometimes but not always - never know what normal is these days!  Hope you feel better soon. x

Glad you mentioned this because I never thought to myself. Yes, I have pain similar to your's and sometimes it makes me wince. My anxiety jumps into high gear and all sorts of fears run through my mind. I sometimes feel a little sickly too when it happens. I've been using liver salts, (one teaspoon in a small glass of water), to disperse the gas. I burp a lot but I'd rather do that than be in agony. It's almost as if our reproductive system is giving it all it's got before it retires. I hope it lifts for you Snowbell, me too and anyone else who has it.

Debbie and Topsy, thank you for calming me down. My anxiety makes me think some dreaded disease has crept in and is tearing up my insides. Oh how I hate peri anxiety. Im so thankful for the support and help.

I sometimes get a sharp pain like a needle being inserted in my uterus area. It only lasts for maybe 5-10 seconds but it's painful. I had it last night.

Yes, I've had these types of pain at times as well. Even at times feeling like a stabbing in my vaginal area. Ugh. Its amazing how many different symptoms are popping up with this

I was complaining about chest pain and the feeling of golf ball stuck in the windpipe/throat, its gone now after I took a few bite of hot pepper two days ago. Asian women might have less physical problems so I gather but a lot of us have the mood swing and character changes. Its the hormones they say. But those who took regular concoction  of herbal tonic they never have any issues. Maybe you should try taking them as if they are juice or syrup or like me its a kind of soup or curry in my meals.

Thank you Sharifah, I am almost willing to try anything at this point. I just started taking Serrapeptase. It's been helping somewhat with the chest pain. It's supposed to be really good for many things and I heard about it helping chest pain so I decided to give it a try. For the past few days, no chest pain. Lets hope it keeps working. Those pains scare me pretty bad.
