Hello. I cut my left leg on a bed rail in Feb. 2017. I kept the cut clean. Well the next month it seemed to be getting worse. Around it was red, draining, and painful. Went to hospital they told me I had Cellulitis. Prescribed me antibiotics. Well it is now August, I've been to the hospital 4 times & a clinic 2 times. Leg still has sore, still draining, around it my leg is black & getting dark down to my feet. Stays swollen. I elevate them every night. I can't stay off them all day. Doctor at clinic wants me to stay off my feet cause of the swelling, but I need to work. Was told I may can apply for Social Security cause of other ailments. But still need to work, while waiting for an answer for that. And the pain is so unbearable, hurts to the bone. On last visit to hospital. I was given a shot of Morphine, just made me drowsy didn't stop the pain. Do you have any recommendations that can help me. This is getting very depressing. It taking over my life. HELP....

What a truly awful experience. I suspect though that you are beyond cellulitis pain and more into the area of wound and pain management. It is a difficult area to give advice on and you really need to keep pushing to get more specialist care. If, for example, morphine wasn't helping then they may have to explore other options - amitriptyline is an antidepressant but has off label uses in treating pain. However, it'd need some testing to get the right treatment and so you should make a fuss until you are seen by an expert. Good luck.

Hello Vicky, I'm into my 7th month of dealing with cellulitis in my foot and although I see improvements it is not in a hurry to heal. I am a bit of a cleanse; I am not drinking alcohol or coffee, cut back on sugar and carbs, trying to eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. I have also started taking supplements. It is hard to be do very much physical activity so I am not dropping a lot of weight but am trying. I sense/feel that my body's immune system is compromised due to previous trauma. I am working on changing my mental attitude; I am trying to envision my foot as being healed. I wish you fast healing and if you find anything that works feel free to share and I'll do the same.

I find the low blood pressure (and resultant fainting) troubling, as it is one of the symptoms I had when I got sepsis with cellulitis. As it seems to be a long-running thing, I doubt it is sepsis, but it is something that needs further investigation. If your doctor doesn't seem to have much experience with this kind of thing (and it is admittedly rarish, my GPs didn't seem very clued in and I had to do a bit of research) then ask for referral to a specialist.

Any body had any luck getting rid of the celluloid? I was hospitalized due to fever and vomiting that I discovered was caused by cellulite. Leg burning, red and blistered. Am home after 5 days iv antibiotics. Pain at times unbearable and swelling doesn't want to go down in spite of having leg in the air most of the day.

Can't edit should say cellulitis not celluloid or cellulite.
