Pain in calves with Fibromyalgia

Hi..

I have had pain in both my calves which then radiates down into my feet and toes. They also frequently go numb as well, but they are not ALWAYS numb. I would just like to hear if anyone out there with Fibro also gets pain in their calves as well.

One joy of having fibromyalgia(at least for me) is that I get hypochondria from time to time.. so naturally, I of course think to myself.. oh no.. what if I have blood clots... but I doubt I do. I mean.. admittedly, I truly am the prime example of one with Hypochondria!

Can someone offer insights as to whether they also suffer from pain in calves with Fibromyalgia?

Thanks!!

sorry to hear FM has been the diagnosis causing a lot of pain. FM can complicate muscle pain and movement. I am concerned about the numbness you described in your toes and the calf pain. Sounds familiar, I had similar issues and went to a podiatrist and in my case my feet were the problem. My shoes now have custom arch supports/ inserts to help with a better balanced foot and has made a difference . It turned out I had fallen arches and worn out the fatty tissue normally on the bottoms of our feet which cushions the feet when walking. Nice soft cushioned shoes helped that issue. New shoes to support my feet better with inserts helped a lot.

A podiatrist may be a place to start to help you eliminate the pain and numbness in your feet. Also nerve issues in my toes called Mortens syndrome which is a pinched nerve caused a lot of pain and numbness. If there are any bunions or hammer toes this too can cause misalignment and pain . After my diagnosis I learned how to use toe cushions and toe pillows to help with Mortens syndrome. Of course every foot is different and a good podiatrist can help get you back on the road to pain free movement as well as different therapies designed for feet and ankle problems can help. Even helps with FM.

Feet can be so painful and when your feet hurt the whole body hurts. And in general the issues with feet/ankle can cause the body to be out of alignment causing pain . Also try a frozen water bottle rolled under arches helps with swelling and pain. Good luck. Sending healing blessings your way.
