Pain in groin, legs, back and under armpits. Panicking!

So I've been experiencing these pains under my armpits, in my legs, my throat, my groin and my back. It's been pretty constant for about a week and I'm panicking that it could be something horrible like lymphoma, breast cancer or something. I have serious health anxiety so it doesn't help I have all the classic symptoms and of course I googled it.

I went to the hospital and told them those symptoms but they didn't jump on anything being wrong. They said they weren't worried and mentioned chronic pain/fatigue. I am going back to my GP on Tuesday because it's literally taking over my life. Has anyone ever had this before? If you have, what was it? Has anyone ever had these symptoms and it has simply been from stress and anxiety? I am so worried. Terrified in fact. Help.

Hi Karen. Thanks for replying! Have you has similar pains I similar places? I am convinced it's something terrible and they're missing something. Had random pains for months. In my breasts too. They keep telling me it's viruses, chronic pain/fatigue etc. Feel like it's just not making me feel better with them telling me it's that. Anxiety is really crippling me mentally and physically. It's horrible. Google tells me I have every symptom of the horrible things. X

The symptoms you described can all be caused by anxiety. They could be caused by things such as rapid heart rate, sweating, muscle tension, hyperventilation and poor circulation that are caused by anxiety.

It can also be the case that you're experiencing hypersensitivity due to your anxiety. Normally, people will get aches and pains all the time, but they will be so minor that they won't notice it. However for you, it could be the case that because you're paying so much attention to your health you've become hypersensitive to these little pains that shouldn't be worried about at all and as a result they seem major and to hurt more.

You can get the doctor to give you a check up for peace of mind, but these sorts of aches and pains aren't uncommon, even for people without anxiety.

I hope you can calm down a bit knowing this x

I hate it. It's horrible, isn't it? I am convinced I have everything. Particularly lymphoma as I have all the symptoms. My doctors don't seem worried but so many things can be missed. I can't keep living like this though. It's literally ruining my life.

Have you thought about saying about fibromyalgia. I've just been told that it could be that for me. Will be investigating it further. In the meantime, heat packs etc

Hi Jac! I know this post is old, but was wondering if you found out anything in regards to your pain? I have pretty bad health anxiety and I'm experiencing the exact same pains. I feel insane. Under left armpit pain, left shoulder blade pain, sternum pain, even in the right groin occasionally now too. I'm convinced something is wrong. I hope you are well!

Hi Taylor i feel the same way you. But i was  diagnosed with anxiety and depression. 2/20/18 and my  Doctor started me on Celexa 20 mg. I was on that for 8 weeks. I was fine until one day i felt my medicine wasnt working i was angry and crying. All i wanted to do was stay in the house. I started having ear pain which i had at the  beginning. So i told my doctor i felt my medicine wasnt  working and she upped my dose to 40 mg  4/18/18 and i have the left arm pain right groin pain the comes and go funny feeling behind my elbow. Right calf crawling worm feeling and pain behind my knee. Im so scared im a mom of 3 kids who need me. All i can do is think im dying. I  just started counseling.  And I asked my doctor to up my lorazepam from 0.5mg to 1 mg and she told me i need to see a  psychiatrist  which i feel like shes saying im crazy. Ive been praying everyday. I just wish i knew this would be ok.
