hello all

My mother has persistent pain in her left arm and breast for the past one year. Its intensity increases when she walks or works swiftly. She has got her mamography done but that didn't show any wrong signs, so Is this an early sign of heart attack?  Or is it mammalgia?

please help.

Hello Asmita, I suggest your mother discusses this with her doctor as I had similar pains in my arms when walking swiftly and dismissed it for some while. It turned out I had angina. Your mum may have something else but do get it checked as soon as practicable.

Has she been checked out for heart problems?   Any chest pain, esp if spreading to left arm, should be checked out immediately as a possible emergency.   This could be angina, in which case it definitely needs to be checked out  I'd suggest she calls an ambulance the next time it happens

She should just see her primary care physician.  This kind of pain is attributable to many causes, including having to do with something muscle related.  It will not help her if you come here and carry back every wild notion that people want to provide.  I understand that you are concerned, but, generally speaking, it would be better to let her come to any forum on her own.
