Pain in left groin area

Hi all

I have had ME/CFS for about 6 months now and have had all the more common symptoms, however, I now have a bad sharp stabbing pain in my left groin area which is a new one for me!!

A couple of weeks ago I was suffering with a pain in my left side of my tummy which I put down to IBS but now this has dissappeared only to be replaced with this!

Has anyone else had this kind of pain , not sure if its connected to my illness or is something else that I may neeed to get checked out by the GP?

It does sound like IBS, however has your GP checked you for Chrohn's or Cealiac the first is by collecting a poo sample, the other a blood test! If both are negative then I think I would suggest get your GP to check your groin for a hernia

    Hi Oaklea,

In honesty, I've no idea what your pain is, or if it is connected to the cfs/me as symptoms are so irregular and sometimes quite strange but, can't see any harm in visiting the gp with any new symptoms that are bothering you.

    Best wishes

    Dear Oaklea,

I have recovered (not completely yet but miraculous improvement) from cfs. In my case it was due to stomach ulcer. According to my doctor, in some cases, cfs, is due to deficieny of the digestive system (stomach ulcers, IBS etc). Root cause is that the organism cannot produce enough energy from the food. Apart from the suggestions of the other friends, may you try to check your digestive system. Lefteris

Sounds classic CFS symptoms to me.When my partner had cfs ,lt was as a result of glandular fever (and a bout of flu and a tummy bug roughly within 3 months). The glandular fever obviously makes the lymph glands swell, and if you check where these are, you'll see there are some in the front hip area and the groin area. When the glandular fever was getting less severe, he would have very sharp pains in his neck, shoulders, armpits ,stomach and groin-it's the muck/virus draining from the lymph glands into the bloodstream.Take paracetamol and drink *lots* of water.Get some vitamin supplements and make sure you have a good diet and plenty of rest/sleep.You will get better,.

Hi Oaklea; just reading up on missed emails, and found your's, so hoping not too far behind?     I am thinking that if the pain is still there, and not receding, then it is best to see GP/primary care giver, as this pain could be related to Anything (from hernia to  genitalia/reproductive system.....ureters etc.......).................Bron
