Pain in my legs?

I wrote awhile ago that I have neuropathic pain in my legs and feet. I have been to the doctors and been tested for everything. All my tests have come back normal including my EMG.

The pain and tingling went away for awhile, but now it has come back. I have very bad pain in my calves the past couple days and also tingling in my feet. I don't know what to do, I am extremely frustrated. My doctor says if the pain persists, I should get an MRI done on my neck, but I don't understand why they want that done if the pain is in my legs. I am hesitant to go to the doctors because they don't really do anything except say that nothing is wrong or prescribe me painkillers. What should I do?

Hello. I would suggest getting some blood work done if you haven't already. Did they do an MRI of your spine? Your neck and your spine are all related. You could have some pinched nerves. I myself have had neck and arm pain and it was because of a pinched nerve from a herniated disc in my neck. I don't put much stock into the EMG because my EMG was normal except for carpal tunnel. And I have been in tremendous pain daily in my arms so I don't think that that test is accurate. But blood work and MRIs are the way to go. I hope you find out the answers you need.

There Isn’t much you can do for neuropathic pain.  Doctors will only try to  put you on anti depressants as they tried to do with me.  For me, heat stops the pain.  The heat of the duvet at night really helps because neuropathy tends to be worse at this time.  The intense Italian summer heat also helps me too.  I’m going to try a heat wrap for during the day because the winter months in Britain are not good for the pain.

I am also trying milk thistle and should know within a few months whether it has helped.

Very frustrating I agree. I'm in the same boat. I really think doctors don't know what to do.

I won't be much help here as I myself have the same sensory pain in my right arm, right upper back, right leg and foot. I have done EVERYTHING including 4 MRIs for brain, neck, thoracic and lumbar but all came back normal. the doctor frankly told me that there are some issues they themselves can't even explain!! which is very true with neurologists. but I hope your condition is not as enigmatic as mine. good luck finding some answers

    Hi!

I'm Lucy from Indonesia. I have a problem with my leg and it turn out that I have sciatic nerve pain by doing MRI on my spine (L5-S1 lateral recess stenosis) for more than 7 year but I think it's heal now. How I get heal is by doing Mindfulness Meditation — Happiness mind; that do help a lot, I feel my body more lighter. I can do my activities like normally and no more back/leg pain. Btw, the whole story can be read on my writing at Medium.

    Hope it help.
