Pain in one tooth

Hi,
Can TN cause pain in a localized area? Perhaps just one tooth in general? My dentist, my second dentist, and an endodontist cannot find anything wrong with the tooth. Does anyone else experience the pain more localized as I am? It was a first the first few teeth on the bottom front, and now its made its way to one tooth in particular.

Oh so much so familiar Tanya.
You can read my posts under my name as ive wrote all about it and too long to go all over again. I will say mine started of with burning mouth syndrome then pain started in one back tooth..got it removed thought was perfectly good toith..the pain like a toothache went into next back tooth so made dentist remove it she told me they are good healthy teeth im removing no more as it moved into next tooth.
Its still here years on..tried lots of meds Gabapenitin being one it didnt work for me.
I take no med for it not this long time if i chew on a piece of plastic it works as eating does..chewing gum does for a time but plastic is better.
I use Oragel its a sml tibe of Benzocaine 20% is the stronger one. It numbs the area for awile then i just keep replying when it wears of several times a day.
I had radiofrequency carried out for it thats a probe inserted in your face to burn of the nerve but unfortunately the wrong nerve was done so my bottom right jaw was numbed for quite a long time sheme it wasn't the correct nerve but it was so horrendous to tell the truth its tsken me several years to pluck up courage to repeat it. Im just waithing on appt coming again. Oh i can sleep ok doesnt bother that but on waking after 30mins kicks in that's it till bedtime. Its just like constant toothache and i diagonsed myself as dentist or doctors couldn't.
Didn't mean to go on so much but get Oragel it does help or cut yourself a piece of plastic to chew on.

Yes it can I got hit in my right front tooth lip swelled tooth hurt for a long time lip stayed blue and red and then started with migraines that would start with pain in my whole mouth area then finally after dentist exam tapping on my teeth it jumped to full excruciating pain lower left jaw and cheek area. This was may of 2016 I had the MVD it did nothing only my meds keep me out of pain any cold air or air conditioning I get the pain back. I'm sorry your suffering with this too do not have any tooth pulled it only makes things worse. You should see a neurologist for pain management. I hope this helps you.

Hi Tanya ,
Yes - I had the same experience. I was so desperate to stop the pain I convinced my dentist to pull the offending tooth although it was against his better judgement. He felt terrible about it! Anyway, the next day I looked on the internet and put in my symptoms and TN came up theough WedMD. This was in 2002ish when the internet wasn’t the first place you went to for all the answers 😁 to life’s questions (lol). I had been to so many drs and dentists and no one could figure it out. Then low and behold - it popped right up. It took me close to two years for a diagnosis. Since then my dentist has sent a few people to neuralogists to rule TN out or have been diagnosed. Anyway, feel better-

My Tn is bad...I was bad head shocks, and I started taking the tegretol and Gabapentin every 4hrs. Also I can't talk. My mouth hurt so bad pain is in my back tooth. Nothing is wrong with the tooth. When I open my mouth it hurts, when I talk it hurts, when I eat it hurts, when I drink it hurts. When I take the pills it hurts. I have work tomorrow & I can barely talk. I just signed up for my job insurance so I can get back in the Dr. They only take PPO now. My nuerologist is in a different city, he had gave me multiple refills. But since I miss going, I need a new referral, unless he on the PPO network. I can't continue like this. This pain is driving me crazy. My Dr told me a couple years ago to get on disability, & keep someone withe at all times. I keep keep electric shocks in my brain & in a scale 1 to 100 its 100, it shocks me in the middle of the night while sleeping. I jump up screaming, holding my head. Noone can touch me because it hurts worse. I'm 37 & I don't no what to do.
