Pain in the right flank that moves to the upper back

I've had this dull pain for several months now. I usually feel it under my rib cage on the right hand side. Sometimes when I stand, I feel it on my back. Pain doesn't go away and it's mild in nature. It does get worse when I have something to eat or drink and there are times when I almost can't feel it at all. I went to my family doctor and blood was found in my urine (invisible to the naked eye). He's thinking it could be a kidney stone and he's ordered new exams, including a citology (haven't received results so far). I've heard kidney stones are really painful and pain comes and go. Doesn't exactly match my condition. I've also noticed that I need to urinate more often and I have to make an extra effort to get it out, I chalked it out to my age. I'm in my 40s and in general I'm healthy otherwise. Anybody with the same symptoms that want to share their diagnosis?

I've gotten my results back and thankfully they are negative. My doctor has ordered a CT scan as so far there is no explanation for my pain.

I'm confident simply because I spent 7 years in agony (it gets worse over time) before finding a Dr to accurately treat me. I'm 1 year Post Op and LOVE LIFE AGAIN 😍

      Hi Amada,

I really appreciate you sharing your diagnosis with me. I've never heard of that but I'm sure I'll look it up as the pain is really annoying and scaring me. You want them to find what's wrong with you but at the same time you don't, because it could be something really serious.

Also I'm so sorry to hear what you had to endure. For me it's been almost a year and sometimes it disrupts my day to day activities. I cannot image suffering for years and years with no relief.

      I can't thank you enough.

      You Are NOT ALONE!!! 😉

It's Rare to get an Accurate Diagnosis before enduring Multiple Surgeries with No Success ... I had a Hysterectomy at age 22 (if that tells you how desperate I was for relief)... then my symptoms disappeared for a few years and after I lost 15 pounds *trying to be Healthier* The Pain Returned November 2008 and Never Went Away until March 12 2015 ... The damage to my body was unimaginable! Nerve Damage, Scoliosis of the spine, mental Exhaustion, etc... but it is All Reversed and Good Now 😁

Sounds Terrible amanda. I checked out Nephroptosis and the symthoms are very similar to mine. And I also lost weight, about 20 pounds 2 years ago so the more reason to think that's my problem. I'm seeing my physcian shortly. I'll ask him about it. I hope he is open to suggestions.

Thanks a bunch. And I'm glad is all over for you smile

      I'm Praying For You!!!!

And keep in mind, I Heard Every Diagnosis Imaginable and let them convince me Surgery was the answer .... so stick to what your Body is telling you. If the Symptoms do not match the diagnosis Make them listen 😉
