Pain in the side of the head (of penis)

As the title says, I'm experiencing a pain the side of the head of my penis, at the left side next to the rim.

I've been experiencing slight irritation on the head, red patches and redder than normal glans. STI clinic and doctor(s) suggest slight balanitis.

I've been circumcised for over 20 years, however I've noticed the remaining foreskin seems to get very red and can also feel like glass paper around the edges of it.

I've tried a number of medical suggestions; Daktacort, Daktarin, Caneston and currently taking Fluconazole (the latter follows a GP suspecting thrush).

The 'pain in the side of the rim' started last Thursday, it's intermittent and feels like a dull ache/stabbing from the inside. The glans in this area on occasion (more early morning) look very red.

I've had problems with epididymitis since April this year and been on LOTS of antibiotics. The pain for the epididymitis is chronic and caused by an enlarged epididymis head following the infection. To clarify, I've been screen repeatedly for STI infection, even more recently for microplasma. All tests are negative.

The pain in the left side rim of my penis head is my biggest concern right now. I actually have a follow up appointment with my urologist next Friday (this can't soon enough). But I'm keen to find out if anyone has suffered from this sort of pain in the side of the penis head.

Should I also be trying to get a referral to a dermatologist that specialises in genital skin disorders?

Thanks in advance. 😃

Are you currently sexually active? If so do you have a regular / one partner? Again, do you use protection if you are sexually active?

When did any of the problems you are experiencing first begin? The Urologist should be able to successfully treat the issues you have - obviously it is your choice if you wish to seek the help of a Genital Skin Disorders Dermatologist ......

Not been sexually active since the beginning of April (I think), I have one partner. Sorry I originally put the epididymitis was caused by infection, but we believe it was caused by a trauma, one of the kids kicking a ball against my right testicle.

My biggest concerns at the moment of the red/raw sensation from what's left of the foreskin and the sporadic dull ache I'm experiencing in different areas of the penis head.

I'll get some photos uploaded asap.
