Pain in toes after ankle surgery?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I fractured the bottom of my tibia on Christmas Eve slipping on ice. Just had surgery January 11 had my bone shaved down and they put one screw in. Before the surgery I was experiencing numbness and tingleing in my toes however my doctor told me as long as I could feel it when touched not to worry. It's been about 2 weeks since my surgery and I've had more pain in my toes than my actual ankle! I haven't been able to wiggle any of my toes besides my big toe but that one doesn't hurt. Barely have any swelling in them either. Anyone know what the cause of this could be?

Hi Jaclyn. I have this also in my toes. Mine has gotten a bit better since I was put on Gabapentin last Friday. I have my post op tomorrow and will be asking why my toes are numb and have pain in them.
