Ive been ill for 18 years ans all tests come back clear. Pain under right ribs and ascending colon , leading to groin. Its very painful . Could this be IBS ? I get spasms but this pain is different and constant .

hi Chantal, is this on the right or left hand side, it could be appendices? it could be gallstones, it could be IBS, phone your doctors and ask to physically see someone, so they can FEEL your tummy. good luck, stick to bland easy food. your tummy is just under your ribs by the way, it sounds like you have bowel type pain!

Do you have any problems with peeing? A pain that goes from under ribs to groin may be kidney stones, which are very painful.
Have you had any scans? As Sam has said it could also be gallstones but you are a bit young for them, although not impossible.

Has you doctor considered a gynaecological cause as well? Can you describe the pain and when it starts?
