I do.  I have chronic neck pain due to degenerative disk disease and I also suffer from chronic insomnia.  I’m currently “manage” both conditions with medications, but honestly it’s not helping much.  After much, much research, I actually just learned that Cognitive Behavioral therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) could help with the insomnia.  If your insomnia is due to pain, I strongly suggest you manage the pain and hopefully the insomnia could be relieved. I’m taking cyclobenzaprine for pain and it also helps sleep for some people, but sadly it doesn’t work for me.

Thanks for your replyTaina75 I've suffered for 16 years now and several surgeries later to my left shoulder I am still at square one. currently off sick as the sleep deprivation 2-2 1/2 hours sleep per night has really hit me and I was just not able to function. My pain specialist won't give anything stronger than the opiates I take my GP won't get involved in pain management even when I'm having a bad flare up. The orthopaedic surgeon can't guarantee further surgery will help. GP won't give sleeping meds as its the pain that causes me to wake. Im just so fed up with everything after all, these years that at 46 is this going to be it for the rest of my life? My GP started me on  mirtazapine 30mg been on these 4 weeks but just want to cry all the time I'm so down I've told the GP how I feel but advised to keep taking the tabs and I will "feel better soon"

Have you tried over the counter sleep medications?  I understand how you feel, it’s frustrating and no many people understand what it is to live with constant pain and your brain not functioning for lack of sleep.  My only recommendation is to find another doctor, get a second opinion. Don’t give up!

hi the pain is in my left shoulder which has become severe 24/7 following what was deemed straight forward surgery. Unfortunately the minute I woke from the surgery I knew something was wrong the surgeon told me i had to expect some pain which fair enough they had shaved bones to decompress and allow the nerve to be released etc but at my6 week follow up apt i was in constant pain and have been since. Since then I live on a daily cocktail of pain medication. The drug you mention is it prescription only? Thanks in advance
