I'm a beauty therapist so Ifound I don't go in I let people down! I'm struggling to walk and my back and wrist is really swollen, I'm taking nurophen and paracetamol but they're not touching it! Any ideas on what I can do to ease the pain so I can work?

sorry you feel the way you do. I'm at the end of my tether too. My doctor hasnt actully diagnosed fibro yet and I've had symptoms for 3 years but only recently realised myself.  I feel I have no one, I'm going to doctor on Tuesday as had a really bad turn and when I phone the doctors the receptionist keep asking how long I have had the pain and I feel so silly saying years and trying not to cry.  I'll probably cancel the appointment.  I don't get any support a home because I just plod along, same old.. go to work and come home to bed 6 days a week but I definitely feels things are getting worse and thats why I called the doctor but really feel its a waste and I'm so despondent.

Sounds like you need to ask to see a different doctor. Because there is no specific test to detect fibromyalgia and because some doctors don't even acknowledge it as genuine (like chronic fatigue/ME) you have to have a doctor who recognises the symptoms and the fact that they are genuine.

I first started have tests when I was 15 I'm now 31 and was only diagnosed 18th months ago! Doctors can be usless you need to insist on seeing a rhomatoligist! They are the only people that will recognise it! I do feel for you its horrible! Hope you get some help soon!

Thank you both, I have seen a rheumatologst but was couple of years ago and you dont know what the doctor thinks until your sitting in front of them and they look at you as though you;re crazy. was thinking of something homeopathic.

As I mentioned before my pain started more than 3 months ago and I been out of work for 2 I can't hardly use my left hand it's in constantly pain and it gets worse as the day goes especially at nights ,its so hard to go to sleep with this pain ,I mentioned before that the last Dr Orthopedic specialist in hand told me that the problem its in my elbow ,so I need surgery ,well hopefully it's that ,because another Dr told me that I have Carpal Tunnel and then another Dr told me that it wasn't Carpal Tunnel ,after scene 7 Dr I really hope is my elbow ,I'm so tired mentally and physically no medication heaven help me,so I just have ti take live pain one day a took 4 tramadol for the pain and nothing ,and 2 percocet before to go sleep I really suffer to go sleep can put my hand in any position even the cover touching my hand bother me. I see comments from other people that they have years dealing with pain I don't really think I'll be able to cope with this pain any longer ,I'll go crazy ..to all of you my heart goes because I know the suffering that we have to go through ever single day .

    Hi amie,

I can only sympathise. I recently finished work on I'll health and can't understand how I kept going as long as I did. Its the exhaustion as much as the pain. I am about to go down the route of herbal remedies and hope that taking these and not having to push myself out the door to work will be of some help. I'll let you know. Hopefully soon!!!

I have been taking Magnesium and Vitamin D for about a month now but don't see any difference yet. I wonder if I am taking enough of each? What is a good amount for both Magnesium or Vit. D? Anyone?

Pam, it can take two months. Up your dose. If you take too much your body will tell you via diarrhoea. I take twice the recommended RDA, sometimes more.

Hi blueman, thx for the input, can magnesium cause stomach pain/discomfort? I have ibs & I am not sure if this upper stomach pain (right below rib cage, in the middle) is my Ibs? Fibro? or did increasing my Magnesium dosage/amount cause these pains?
