Pain killers

Can anyone suggest pain killers for joint and muscle pain/discomfort? I have tried duloxetine (which I know is not a pain killer) which took the edge off the pain but kept me awake all night, along with feeling constantly sick and constipated. So I would rather deal with the pain in another way.

Yes I have tried amitriplyn years ago that the doctor put me one but again it made me feel worse. My mum is on at present, for hip and back pain, gabapentin, but she too is feeling worse. So I think I will avoid any type of anti depressant.

hi aabb.....i tried amytripalene and gabapentin , but did not life the side affects...i use Tylenol PM at night and when really bad and i am not driving i use it during the day...also i eat yogart to combat the constipation...i try and stay away from all the painkillers...also i use alot of ice packs and heat...i keep a hot water bottle filled in the freezer all the time and take it out when needed then alternate with a heating pad..works best for me.

Hi, l've tried Gabapentin & Amitriptlyn for pain did'nt find them any good. If l take a high dose of Amitriplyn just knocks me out then feel as though l've got a very bad hangover next day. I've started to use magnets on the painful spots & l use a lot of muscle rubs & sprays. If you do find anything that helps, let us all know! Good luck
