Pain left of belly button - ibs

Hi, just after some advice really 😃

I've had a pain/discomfort about 1-2inches to the left of my belly button now for about 7 weeks. GP cannot feel a lump or anything unusual during examination, neither can I. It almost feels like I can feel something inside when i'm sat on sofa/driving-like a muscle pull or something, hard to describe. We initially thought it was muscle strain but GP has now said its could be IBS.

I am 29 female and had baby 8 months ago- have some internal piles too which wont go so have been referred for those.

GP has done bloods which were normal, FIT test and a stool test for inflammation both came back normal. GP has also referred me for a sigmoidoscopy altho she isnt worried. My bowels are usually ok, been abit loose past few weeks but my anxiety has been through the roof - convinced myself its not IBS because it doesnt seem to fit the 'normal' symtoms i find online. Been following a low fodmap diet-ish, - doc has prescribed me meberverine but i dont find it helps at all.

I have also been having the odd back pain and pain further to the left of my abdomen which i do believe could be my IBS flaring up, but the tight pain by my tummy button makes me wonder if its something additional aswell .

V. anxious here so please be kind!

thanks

    Hi Harriet,

This sounds like my exact symptoms. Did you ever find out the cause?

    Please help if you can.

    Thanks
