Pain management

I have a softball sized lump now on my bottom. I've been taking 3 ibuprofen to manage the pain until the bactrum kicks in. In the meantime, are there any methods that do not include warm compresses to help pain?

    Hi, that sounds horrendous. I wish I could offer you some practical advice but the only thing I can offer is that I've always found paracetamol a better analgesic that ibuprofen. You might want to give it a try, but it may just be that it's what works better for me. Are you putting anything directly on it to help, creams etc?
