Pain management after abdominal myomectomy

Posted , 2 users are following.

I'm scheduled to have a myomectomy that's either going to have a vertical or a bikini incision. My MD wrote a prescription for 50mg of Tramadol. Is that typical? I'm concerned about being in a lot of pain and curious to know what you have been prescribed.

i was prescibed tramadol, & yes its normal - its a very very strong opiate and pain killer. use it but manage it well. i used this only when i could not sleep during the night. I was in a lot of pain, & tramadol helped. It is addictive. i discussed this with my partner and he and i came to the conclusion to use during the night, to sleep, to recover, to mend & heal. i did not use it during the day.
