[color=indigo:aaaf28b181][b:aaaf28b181]Well...I have waited 3 very long months for this appointment, but finally it is nearly here....On Monday morning I have an appointment to see a very well respected and reputable Pain management specialist!!!!! I am trying not to pin too many hopes on him being able to help me, but right now, its all ive got!! :?
Ive been keeping a pain diary for the past 3 months to help him know where i am at pain wise and what meds i take and when...I hope it helps.
Lately i have really felt like the pain is sooooo out of control...the meds aren't working as well as they should...and im sooooo fed up with this pain ruling my life!!!!!
For those who dont know my story I an an Aussie... ...Briefly, I have has CS from a work injury 13 yrs ago....I had ACDF surgery on my C4/5 & 5/6 just over a year ago and am not really sure it worked at the moment... I have recently had the pain in my upper right arm come back worse than before my surgery....I still have headaches daily, neck pain (deep aching) clavacle (sp?) pain on and off as well.
I also have an appointment with my Neurosurgeon a week after, as i am worried about the arm pain increaseing like it has... :?
Wish me luck.....Im sending you all lots of prayers and *HUGS*

I have spinal arthritis... just worn out before my time... and was offered an assortment of painkillers at pain management. I still cant find one that works and doesnt have horrible side effects...... so Im still trying out assorted meds from months back......
I hope you get some solutions.... and not more boxes of pills.
New here...
good luck

Well....I really like the Pain management specialist!!! Which is a good thing, as i need to trust his advice and judgement. We have decided that I am going to go into the Rehab centre to go on a Ketamine Infusion drip for 7 days!! Basically it is to take me off all of my pain meds and start again...The ketamine kind of resets your brains pain neurons so we will know what is 'real' pain and what is caused by my brains memory of pain from before my surgery...I know it sounds weird and complex but i do know quite a bit about it as 2 friends have been thru the same process a few months ago. Its a tough week on the Ketamine, but i know i am strong and i have nothing to lose!!! I am on a lot of narcotic drugs and they just dont work anymore for me....so i feel this is the only and right direction for me too go. I wil probably still need some meds afterwards, but they will work for me again afterwards. I will also be doing a pain mangement program for 8 weeks i think it is.
Has anyone else had this treatment before??? Do they do it in the UK too...???

Hello !
Have you tried a new oxycodone based med called TARGINACT ?
It reduces the Opiate Induced Constipation significantly
Kind Regards
