Pain near right groin

Posted , 5 users are following.

Been doing a lot of every lifting over weekend and tonight I have started with a sharp shooting pain in and around my right groin. And of course I suffer with health anxiety so of course I think the worse. Any suggestions please x

    Hi Karen

I quite understand how you must be feeling. I too suffer from health anxiety and the feeling of worry is just dreadful. You really know what is causing your pain but you can't get it out of your head - that feeling is just so scary. I am sure it is as you say and you have pulled a muscle.

Have a couple of paracetamol and a warm bath and go to bed. I am sure you will feel better in the morning. Give it a couple of days to let it settle.

Sounds like muscle tension or something along those lines. Take some Ibropofen or you can take a epsom salt or magnesium salt bath to relax your muscles. And try to take it easy for tomorrow.

I have suffered health anxiety for 10yrs so understand fully where you're coming from. Every twinge I think is something sinister. You've said you've been doing lifting so in reality you have probably pulled a muscle. I'd take ibuprofen and have plenty of hot baths, put a hot water bottle on it or some deep heat cream if you have any. A pain the groin area really isn't linked to any serious illness's, in that area the things to watch out for are any lumps that get bigger over time... Please try not to worry but if it doesn't go in a few days they go see your GP for reassurance xxxx

The dreaded health anxiety playing mind games.

As kanga says paracetamol, warm bath etc.

    Or a muscle rub xx
