    hi there,

i am gabapentine tramodol and another tablet but cant remember the name of but it is a anti depressant which they use for pain to be taken at night.  i tried oramorph but could not tolorate it, it made me feel sick.  i was hoping that my GP would give me something to counter this but he told me to stop taking it which i did not want to as i found it helped with my pain.  He put me onto Tramodol and said that i was not to use both tramodol and oramorph together as they are from the same group.  silly man forgot he stopped my Oramorph.  i am thinking about going back to see my own GP to see if she will give me the oramorph as it helped, and ask for something to combat the sickness.

My opinion.. I deal with my pain with no opiates ...I'm allergic.no mr pinene yuck... redface. Only after ops do I take any pain meds.. I have severe cronic pain for many years. Pain meds make it worse for me. I stay fit as best I can.. Letting the body to tell me what I need to do.. Lots of PT.

OTC meds help me much better.

Hi Melanie, I take a combo of drugs but use Zomorph, much the same as oromorph. I couldn't live without it and take 20mgs morning and bedtime. I also take Sevredol for breakthrough pain for really bad days but use it sparingly. I was on a concoction, so please be careful. My ex-GP was happy to keep prescribing until I was taking 57 pills daily plus half a botle of liquid diazepam. I ended up wheelchair reliant and sitting in an almost vegatative state (not to mention my wieght ballooning!). After many years, I now believe drugs aren't always the best way to address the many problems. Now on 14 tabs a day and feel so much better. I attend a homeopathic hospital who introduced me to alternatives which are now my main support (Tai Chi, yoga, hydrotherapy, massage, hot water bottles etc etc but all harmless and good for you). I'd watch out for long-term Tramadol use. I was on 16 x 50mgs daily and twas a nightmare to wean off. You seem to be on a lot already (strength-wise) please be mindful not to just keep adding as things progress. Altho a fan of Morphine, I stopped Pregabalin, Tramadol, Amatriptolene etc to make way for it. Some people get itchy with Morphine, given it's an opiatem but over-the-counter anti-histames work until it settles down. Take care & hope you get your meds stable asap :-)

Hi. I'm on 300 mg of msts /20 mg citalopram / 30 mg baclofen / 75mg  amytryptalon / 300 mg pregabalin / 20mg lanzoprazole / 180mg spasmonal and sevredol for the pain if it get to bad so I can take anything up to 8 10mg a day.  I'm still in pain but I don't want to increase the med as I think some of the other tables I'm on is to counter affect the morphine. By the way in on all this lot because of a bike accident over 11years ago. If any obe knows of anything I can do to ease the pain without more med. Thanks Matt

      Hello Matt,

Sorry to hear of your situation. You are on a lot of pain meds, and still not working. That is a bad thing, praps you should try coming off some of these meds, Slowly of course, and se what is truly working. Good luck

      Take care, Anne

    Hello Melanie

I have read all these posts, concerning the amount of meds people are on, and I find it quite disturbing. Despite all these meds people are still experiencing pain. to me that is a warning sign! My doc will only prescribe amitriptylene, cos most meds have horrible side effects, and still don't do much!

    Take care, Anne
