Pain relief - Codeine Alternatives

I am about a week away from ending my Buprenorphine programme after taking an incredible amount of Co-Codamol 30/50@ and then Nurofen Plus for 5 years plus so I am a Codeine addict in recovery.

I have been suffering terribly from mouth ulcers, blisters, severe pain in gums and inside mouth but after a year or more seeing Consultants and Dentists there is no cure and I am worn out with pain.

I have found that after taking massive amounts of paracetamol and codeine over a long period normal amounts of paracetamol and ibuprofen dont help with pain so I am suffering terribly.

Apart from codeine products are there any alternatives for pain that work? Does anyone have the same experience who struggles with codeine?

Any help or advice would be welcome and thanks for reading.

    Sounds horrific. However keep trying. Has your dr suggessted Vitamin B or going to the dental hospital?

    The dental hospita may decide tox ray yourmouth ortake swabs toidentify the source of the infection. Good luck with this as it is quite debilitating.
