sorry for the delayed response. This was from cartiva surgery. As of today I am in so much more pain than when I originally made this post.

      Dana,

My Cartiva Implants on both feet didn't work Six months later I had both toes fused. Didn't keep the pain away. A year later I had the sesamoid bones removed on both feet. I am still in pain. Talked to my doctor today. He said that it takes time to heal from sesamoid surgery. He assured me that my pain will go away in time. In the meantime, he started me on taking Gabapentin 100 mg tablets. He said it takes 30 days for the Gabapentin to kick in. I started taking Gabs today, April 15, 2020. If you want to call me to discuss your problem, I'm happy to be of some help. Joe at 408 996 1762.

2.5 years later after my cartiva implant I had my toe fused. Almost 8 weeks post surgery and I'm good wish I hadn't waited and plan to do left foot in the fall. But now I hear your bad experience.Yikes. My husband takes Gabapentin for restless legs. He has some double vision and I hope you don't. Not familiar with your surgery.

Glad to hear that your fusion worked. You're lucky. I would go for fusing the second toe. Even though my third operation(removing sesamoid bones) hasn't so far relieved my pain in both feet, I still believe that I'll be free of pain one day. Are you sure that Gab caused double vision in your husband's eye/s? I was on it for two weeks and got off it because the drug wasn't working for me. No problem with my vision. My podiatrist told me today that it takes being on Gab 30 days for the drug to kick in. We'll see. Stay safe. Joe
