Pain & swelling on Labia Majora (pictures)

Hi all,

A few days ago, I woke up with a swollen area (doesn't really feel like a lump) on my left labia majora. It looks red, and it's painful. At first I thought it might be an ingrown hair, but I couldn't find anything. Some spots where there's a hair growing, do seem irritated though. It can't be anything sex related, as I haven't had a partner in years.

I've been soaking with a warm washcloth every day, but no improvement. I'll see a doc if it persists, but I'd rather not (I hardly ever go as is).

Does anyone have an idea what it could be and how I can help it?

    You should stop shaving,take an antihistamine for a while and avoid any scented washing products. It should get better.
