Pain that comes & goes during the day.. is it Costo?

I have quite a high tolerence to pain, so to me this pain seems to come & go.

I have had Xray & ECG (both seem fine) - but I have a pain that comes & goes in my right side chest around the 2nd-3rd rib & the pain is between the middle of my upper pecs towards my sternum.

I cant tell if its muscular or not, as it seems deeper than my muscles.

However, when I get the pain, the area feels tender & if I rub my thumb down with some pressure it seems to inflame it a bit more! Its like someone pressing on a bruise.

My doc gave me some Ibuprofen gel, while that helps with the pain on the right side, I then get pain on the left or behind my upper breastbone.

I am trying to rule things out. I cant forcefully bring on the pain & when I dont have the pain, I dont have any symptoms.

I have tried various things to try & make the pain happen. going out in the cold, heavy excercise, moving my arms around a lot, lifting heavy objects, changing positions if sitting, etc. Sometimes the pain will come, other times it dont. If anything, it comes on when doing something repetitive (like just now typing on a keyboard - it can come on when I start jogging, but if I imobilise my arm, the pain soon goes.)

Sounds very much like Costo, however I am not a doctor and cannot dx wink I've had it for two years and a week., and have had every medical test done. The only things that help me are pain medication, cannabis oil, and avoiding emotional stress and anxiety (which is easier said than done as costo and anxiety go hand in hand) I also cannot lift heavy items.

Accupuncture helps tremendously. As does scalene therapy by a licensed AND knowledgeable physical therapist.

You might want to check with a chiropractor also, to at least rule out pinched nerves and flossing ribs.

This is a maddening condition. Find what works for you.

I've also found that sugars make it worse for me. I don't eat much in the first place, but when I do I can tell the difference.

Hang in there. And remember modern medicine DOES NOT have all the answers.

    Thanks for the replies.

What I cant get my head around is that it is not there constantly. Only 1 to 5 'attacks' a day when it feels like a lot of pain. After the initial attack, it kinda becomes is a dull ache, but not even strong enough to warrant painkillers.

I am in a catch 22, where I think its my heart, so its making me anxious.

That's almost the worst part of this- the anxiety.

When after a couple ekg and heart tests ruled out any heart issues, I still get anxious. It comes with the costo I'm afraid
