Pain the buttock area when bending over

Posted , 3 users are following.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I've had both L and R thr with the right side being the most recent. It was done in May 2016. I'm having issues when I bend over. I can bend down fine, it's the coming back up part that gives me pain. When coming back up it get severe pain in the rear of the right side pelvis. It almost feels like it locks up. It takes me a minute or two to stand fully upright. I've talked to my Dr. about it and he doesn't believe that it is associated with the thr, but I didn't have this pain before the surgery. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar.

Thank you all for your time.

I have a simular pain and my physio found that I have Piriformis Syndrome where the muscle has become inflamed.    It leads from top of bottom and down to the thigh... I also need to take my time in re straightening myself after bending.

There are a few exercises to do to help but massage is the best thing apparently.

Hope this helps keep doing your normal exercises and try to find someone who can do some deep tissue massage.

      Elaine,

My Dr. gave me a tens unit to use on my left side because the muscle rehab was going slower on that side (on the upper thigh and surgical side). The last coulpe days I have also been using it on my right 'cheek'. I have noticed a slight positive difference in the amount of pain when straightening back up. I am going to continue using it on a daily basis and also look up some exercises. smile
