painful back and legs

I have been taking bisoprolol for about 8 months and my legs get so painful when i walk that i cannot walk more than about 300 yards before i have to stop and i have had to give up gardening because of my leg weakness. I also seem to be constantly having cold sweats, I am beginning to think it is a side effect of this medication ?????

I don't remember that happening to me but everything else went bad. There is nothing I could say good about that medicine or the other 2 that ended in lol

its a long time since i posted on here..but ...i had the same problem...weakness in my legs!had to keep sitting down. i had other side effects too. it took me ages to realise that i was having side effects from bisoprolol. i thought it was part of the a/ fib. my gp didnt listen just didnt answer my concern. i trusted him with my health issues and continued with this awful meds. after 4 years...a new gp changed me to atenlol. again i suffered...weight gain! zombie like, falling asleep... i decided to cut back on the beta blocker with his approval and then stopped taking it! the withdrawal was really bad... its taken at least 8 months ..im now beta blocker free. i still have a bad back, and some weakness in my legs. i think due to my overweight. im happier to be off it. lots of people have no side effects...but i definitely suffered. getting your gp to listen and respond ...well i hope yours is better than mine! take care.

I agree with everything Elizabeth said.

I was on Biso for 3 months. It dropped my blood pressure and pulse to low. My hands and feet were freezing all of the time. I became a couch potato as I had nor energy and felt like a zoombie.

I was taking it for atrial tachycardia. When I went for my first ablation attempt, I was told to stop taking it 5 days prior to procedure. I asked if that was okay, and my EP said it was just fine. Well it was not okay. I went into severe withdrawals. But at the time I did not know it was withdrawals. I though it was anxiety. I was then put on trazodone and a benzo ( klonopin).Nightmare!!!!!!!!!

I then had to withdrawal from those, and it was the worst thing I have ever had to do. I am 18 months post withdrawal and still going through stuff.

If I had realized the origional withdrawal was from the Biso, I would never had put myself through this. This has been about 3 years since this all started.

Doctors do not have a clue when it comes to withdrawals.

I told my doctor I would rather have tachycardia than be on biso.

If I knew then what I know now..........
