Painful bladder

I have suffered with bladder pain ( and all this area) for a number of years and it hurts when passing water and aches for most of the time. Have been to Drs so many times all say they can find nothing wrong. Am looking for advice as getting depressed after all this time.

    Have they done a CT scan and/or MRI? Are you seeing a specialist? I would suggest get multiple opinions. If you are going to a general practitioner try going to an obgyn. If you have done that try a urologist. Keep trying until you find someone who can offer better suggestions and tests.

    Does your bladder hurt when it fills?  I have had bladder pain for 5 years but got diagnosed 2 years ago with interstitial cystitis, which is an inflammation of the bladder wall.  It happens 80-90% in women but can affect men.  If you have bladder pain for more than 6 weeks with no infection identified then it could be this, however, it can take a long time to get a diagnosis - took me 3 years.  Best to see your GP and get a urology referral first.

    Hi! So sorry you've been suffering all this time without a diagnosis. Have you seen a urogynecologist? I was diagnosed with painful bladder syndrome/interstitial cystitis by one a few months ago and she's been a great help. Vaginal atrophy and pelvic floor disorder can cause similar issues. Have you had urine cultures and ultrasounds? Definitely keep going until you see the right doctor and get the help you need. I wish you luck and healing!
