Painful ejaculation while on tamsulosin

Sometimes when I ejaculate it can be rather painful. When I have complete retrograde ejaculation I have no pain whatsoever, but when the tamsulosin is at its weakest some semen will come out, and when it does I feel pressure and a sharp burn/sting.

I think the pain is coming from the bladder neck and prostate area.

I do worry about it causing possible damage to my urethra and bladder neck.

But the tamsulosin has helped my urination side of issues by around 75% so I’m definitely not coming off it!

Does anyone else suffer with this side effect? Anyone know what could be causing the pain?

I take an alpha blocker for a tight bladder neck.

I am a long time Tamsulosin user ( .4mg x 2 daily) and have recently reduced the dose to a single .4mg cap with a 10mg Tadalfinil dose. I have a slightly enlarged prostate. Since the change in meds, I have significantly less retrograde ejaculation but, have recently been experiencing a burning sensation during ejaculation. I underwent a vasectomy in my 30s.

I've been told retrograde ejaculation is a fairly common side effect of Tamsulosin but, also have concerns regarding painful( burning sensation) ejaculation. Also experiencing painful erections during prolonged( an hour or so) sexual activity.

I have received relief from both symptoms following prostate massage. Have discussed the retrograde issue with both my GP and a urologist. Both seem uninterested and are definitely negative on prostate massage.

    Looking for some feedback.
