Painful finger joints

Hi ladies,
I have been on hrt for a month nearly and the last 2 weeks have noticed my finger joints are painful and keep dropping things cause can't grip so well. I am wondering if it's a side effect of the hrt as it does state is one of the side effects some may experience joint pain and swelling. It worries me though as my mum had rhumatic pain in her hands/fingers and had to give up playing the piano because of it but surely if it's the same as my mum it would come on gradually over time.

Hi Sarah
?I have been wondering the same thing! I have restarted HRT for the last 8 weeks and I have joint aches in fingers ankles knees wrists. My finger is the worst, burning stabbing pains.
?I have read about Menopausal Arthritis so don't know whether the HRT is a good idea or if it is in fact causing this? i didn't have it previously
Let me know how you get on.
?( what HRT are you on? I am using Fem 7 conti patches)

Perhaps I need to give the hrt at least 3 -6 months as read it takes at least 3 months for everything to settle down.

Hi Sarah, I have been dealing with finger joint pain, I shook a lady's hand today and she squeezed so tight I wanted to scream..
My knuckles are very sore especially in the morning, I went to Dr. and asked her if maybe menopause could be causing it, she ordered labs to rule out rheumatoid arthritis i have a follow up visit next week to get results and some answers to all my joint pain I'm praying for a positive report.

Hi grace, I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞I think my mum had rheumatoid arthritis in her hands although she did have a hard time with menopause to. I was to young to really remember alot of her problems but am worried it's arthritic same as my mum. I mentioned to doc today and he said although it mentions it in side effects of my hrt he thinks it's more likely to be peri related as it does effect your joints.
