Painful intercourse

Hi guys

I am now 15 weeks post rectocele repair.

Took on board advice from this page and was careful about everything to the 12 week point.

Problem now is even with lubrication my husband and I are unable to have sex! It is really painful on point of penetration. It is like two separate pains- obviously there is a tightness and sore stretching feeling to the back wall but there is also this horrible sharp needle feeling to the front.

With perseverance will this subside or is this my lot from now on? 😣😣😣

Any advice appreciated.

    I can only comment on my experience but I found up until about 16 weeks things were uncomfortable but after that time there was no pain.

    Have you had a post op check? If not then ask for one, if you have then I would contact your consultant’s secretary & ask for another appointment as you need to get this sorted. Another option is to see a specialist female physiotherapist they are really helpful.

      Thanks for reply. This gives me hope.

      I had a dr give a very gentle examination around 6 weeks and she was pleased with how things were healing. But no further consultations since then. I have an appointment in couple of weeks for other stuff so if there no improvement by then I will ask then.
