Painful knees post hip replacement

Hi everyone, this forum has been very helpful and supportive during my journey through everything THR. I am 15 weeks post surgery, posterior hip replacement and have been managing really well as far as my new hip is concerned. However I am having pain problems with my knees, when I am walking. Am doing all my recommended exercises wondering whether I am actually over doing them, seem to be starting to go backwards with my recovery, not been able to walk as far and not able to cycle on bike trainer. Also does anyone notice more pain, stiffness in this cold, damp weather. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks

    Hi Lisa,

I had knee pain and swelling for many months post THR, but noticed once I started to move around less everyday (had to start working from home from the end of March) there was considerable improvement within 4-6 weeks. I'm not advocating that you cease exercising but I did feel that resting more rather than being on the go all of the time at work helped my knee.
