Painful knees waking me up at night.

i have suffered with a painful rleft knee for several years and was under the  impression it was OA. That was until I requested to see a specialist and found out that my knees aren’t so bad but I have advanced OA of the left  hip.  Had X-rays a few years ago but never connected my left leg pain as a symptom of my hips.

i limp badly and walk with a stick.

My knee respond to anti inflammatory gel but still aches constant.  Recently my right leg has started aching.

What I can’t understand is why I get woken during the night with really bad aching pain in both knees.

i have been told hip OA can cause leg pain but it’s my knee that causes me the most discomfort.

anyone  else have this problem?

My father suffers from OA, and has had success in decreasing pain and increased mobility using this ASU product: - it takes about 60 days to start working, but has helped my father a great deal. I am currently looking for information on exercise and nutritional regimens to helps him with his pain.

Hi Christopher, sorry to hear if your Dads OA in knees. I am 71 , have same problem. The exercises i do that help me are using exercise bike, walking and swimming. Walking but not too much, sometimes i feel good and go for a long walk then suffer for it after wards so short and often. swimming you must NEVER do breast stroke (I'm a retired swim teacher) that is the worse for knees and back. if he can't do front crawl then just walking in the water lifting knees as high as possible is good as there is no weight bearing.

      Hope this helps, good luck!
