Painful lump in vulva, help

Posted , 4 users are following.

I have an extremely painful lump in my vulva, between my clit and my outer labia major. Its about 1 ½ inches long and ½ inch wide. It formed over night and the pain just gets worse and worse. Its so deep that I can't pop it and like I said extremely painful, I'm going to see my Dr in two days about it but I want to know what it is and how to prevent it again

    Dear Cheyne;

Its a good thing you were brave enough to talk openly about your issue in here.

be assured you are in a safe space and we are all hear to listen , try to advise you and also encourage you to do the best thing for yourself.

I am a gay male and know very little about the female body .

So please excuse me for this.

Anything liek you desribe sounds very painful and to me my first thought is this is all about stress and possibly something that has caused you some levels of anxiety in your recent past.

You are of course doing the right thing by going to your GP to get advice but I would also encourage you if your not completely satisfied with what they say to you if this wer me I would be seeking a 2nd opinion.

I would not try to self examine this either as it could be something that may burst and cause you serious further greif.

Apart from this I do not know what else to say.

I am sorry that you are suffering like this.

Please keep us informed of how you get on in the next few days.

    Peace and rest

    PJ

Have you experienced other symptoms? Does it seem like a hard cyst under the skin ? Does it hurt because yiu messes w it or it did on its own?

Have you had any recent sexual relations?

      Other symptoms:

I feel like I have a fever but when I check my temp its fine, and I wake up drenched in sweat.

Does it seem like a hard cyst:

I think so, its a hard long lump, its not round like a marble, its about 1½ inches long, and ½ inch wide.

Does it hurt when I mess with it or on its own:

Both... If I skip ibuprofen, it becomes excruciating on its own, standing, sitting, walking, laying down, none of it helps it only makes it worse.

I've been with only one man but not recently

You're gonna have to see a doc to get it checked out. A gyno that is, not a GP..

I will be, oh another symptom is more vaginal drainage than usual but it doesn't smell, and its the usual clearish white color, just more in amount than usual

Well, it's normal for our discharge to change during the hormone changes.. Sounds like yiu are ovulating now and likely arw about 10-14 days out from your period

Though a "mere man" it sounds as if it might eb a Bartholin's cyst. If so - and you can look it up on internet search engine - it is painful and needs a small operation called marsupialisation.  If it is that cyst then it may burst [or be persuaded to burst - giving instant relief but may then refill without the op.

    Good luck
