Painful lump on the side of my gum, face hurts to the touch

I've noticed that when I've been touching the side of my face, it hurts. I felt the inside of my mouth and felt a somewhat hard lump on the side of my lower gums, near the molars. I looked and saw nothing there, but when I could still feel it. The pain is a dull pain, kind of like when you push down on a bruise and it's been going on for weeks.

you could have an abcess. dont push on it. maybe put something hot outside on your jaw and it may help drain out the pus. the next thing, is to see your dentist.

I had a similar thing last year and it turned out to be an infected tooth. I delayed going to the dentist and the side of my face swelled up and was agony and I ended up on antibiotics. See your dentist asap!

I had a similar experience before. It was due to an infected tooth in my upper jaw. I have tried some usual home remedies first, applied an oral gel, and then tried some painkillers. But it was of no use. Then I consulted an emergency dental care services near the High Park( http://www.bloorwestdentistry.ca/treatment.php ). My dentist prescribed some antibiotics to reduce pain and then that tooth is extracted. My tooth was in the extreme stage of decay so that I have undergone a tooth extraction.
