Painful lymph nodes but not swollen??

Hello,

For a few months now I have been dealing with chronic neck pain and tension in the front sides and back of my neck. Most frequently the sides of my neck and my TMJ really hurt as well. I’ve noticed that I’m also getting a throbbing pain right under my jaw and when tilt my head to the side I can feel both lymph nodes.

However I do not believe they are swollen because you can’t see or feel them if I put my head straight... 

Can neck pain and tension/TMJ pain cause pain in lymph nodes also?
