Painful sensitive teeth and hot painful ears

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hi ladies, I had a small temporary filling in a tooth a couple of weeks ago, dentist never drilled the tooth she just manually scraped it and put a filling in it

Two days later I was in the car? My husband was driving, he got out to carry something from the boot and asked my 22 year old son to close the boot, he was in a mood and slammed it as hard as he could, I had a bit of earache but a couple of days later had toothache really bad

After 4 trips to two different dentists and a tooth extracted all my teeth feel sensitive and my ears are hot and painful, my dentist put me on a course of antibiotics as a precaution which I have now finished

I have suffered from terrible health anxiety since I entered Peri this is causing my anxiety to go through the roof incase my ears are damaged. My husband said a loud bang cannot be the cause of this and he thinks it's having the extraction and me focussing and worrying the bang has caused this

The reason I'm asking ladies is I had burning ears without the tooth pain a few months ago and heard it could be menopause related. I'm on tibolone a form of HRT

Thanks for reading this ladies id appreciate anyone's experience with anything like this or any reassurance

Thanks xx

    Hi Brendababy

i am sorry to hear you are going through such a bad time.

i also suffer with health anxiety brought on by peri, I have had hot burning ears for nearly two years now, it isn't all the time in my ears, but it is in my throat on a daily basis and when it's really bad my nose ears and throats all feel very hot, I am waiting to see my 3rd ENT for this, they don't seem to know what's causing it, it has been said that it could be caused by my hormones been all over.

i have had counselling with regards to the anxiety and it has helped hugely with the way I handle things now.

i have also bern suffering with ringing in the ears if I'm too near anything loud. Hope this helps xx

Yes teeth and ears terribly sensitive. I never minded loud music but for

the last few years I cannot tolerate it, which is unfortunate as my husband

likes to have his music very loud. I don't know if anyone else has felt like this

but there is certain music and tv programmes etc that I cannot listen to or

watch, things I used to love but it just makes me feel uneasy and depressed.

Also thinking about sex too! I can only listen to classical music and mostly

like to watch comedy or old stuff I used to watch as a kid or with my kids.

It is like I have had a complete personality change!😕

My husband is sympathetic but he really can't get his head round it.😮😮

      Hi Jokey

omg yes I have done exactly the same, don't watch anything that I now find depressing, strangely before I didn't and I only like watching either comedy or more positive things, this has definitely happened since I started in peri, yes the ringing ears is awful as I too like my music load, maybe that could be why I have the ringing 😬

Its awful what this does to, not only our bodies but our way of thinking, thank god for this group xx

Yes it is awful Sue. Wish I could get back to normal. Sorry you

are feeling this too but at least it is a comfort to know I am not

      going mad.

Hope we both get back on track soon☺☺

Jokey this is a terrible time in our lives, I never imagined that hormone imbalance could cause all of this upset and unhappiness. I also have a very painful stiff neck, I think I've made it worse by tensing and not using it properly now I have the fear cos turning my head makes me dizzy so I'm stuck in this cycle, I'm trying to move it when I'm not concentrating on it like while I'm getting the washing from the machine, folding etc but it's agony, I believe this is another lovely peri symptom

Here's to the better days for us all !! ??

Sorry to hear this Brendababy. I expect the neck problem is stress

it can take you like that, also aches and pains everywhere at this

time. I have arthritis in my neck so I know some good exercises

to ease the pain (look on line for neck exercises) I am sure you will

get some relief. Also a really use full, and comforting aid is a

lavender heat pad I think you can get other scents.Mine is a long one

to go round my neck. You heat it up in the microwave for about 4

minutes and lay it on, believe me it does wonders!

Try it and I think it will ease the pain.

I really hope you feel better soon☺☺

Thanks for replying Jokey I'm going to try and find a lavender heat pad sounds soothing, my neck is so rigid but I'm terrified of being dizzy and have stopped turning my neck I have to turn my whole body it's rediculous!! Need to get rid of the fear

Thanks again and I'll keep you posted on any improvements xx

I'll try that too!!   I'm sure they are out in the stores this time of year.  My neck area is full of arthritis and I carry stress there also.   I went for acupunture and she gave me some rubbing cream for this area.  It smells like Ben-Gay but it's a Chinese version with herbs.  I sometimes rub this in at night before bed when my neck feels tight.

Yes it works tor me Kelly, don't know what I would have done

      without it.

Hope you both get some relief. Will put mine on this evening and

give a sigh of relief lol😁

All the best to you and BB (above)

Oh my goodness!!!  : )  This is heaven!!!   I still love my 'chinese ben-gay' for this area BUT this heated neck thing is great!!  A couple years ago I bought a heated neck massager that you plug in-- it  was OK-- you sit there but this gives me the freedom to move around and it keeps me warm with the microwave..   It seems like I'm always cold...   And it was on sale (black friday) so even better!

Yes Kelly it really is heaven 😊Makes you feel warm all over and I

am sure it will ease the pain in your neck in time.

Really glad to hear it is helping.😊
