Painless red spots on glans and foreskin, Balanitis or?Posted about 13 hours agoHi everyone,

Little detail about me first, I had done a Herpes 2 igg test with a 3.1 result back in 6months ago. Doctor said have genital herpes. I told him I have never had any lesion or pain coming from my genital area, he said not every herpes 2 carrier will experience lesions in their whole life.

Anyways, I was showering 2 days ago and found these red patch/spots on my glans and foreskin. They are painless, I can urinate and masturbate normally. It's just the red color that concerns me.

Is this Balanitis? Or is it Herpes 2? Should I find a dermatologist to cheeck it out?

Thanks,

Stanley

Hi Stanley. I have the exact same problem, from being diagnosed with Herpes 2 to the red foreskin as in your pictures. No pain, just the color. Did you find any solution? If you did, I appreciate if you could share with me. Been trying everything for weeks with no improvement, including doctor anti fungus prescription, as well as herpes inhibitor tablets. Thank you!

Hi Jay. I was diagnosed with herpes 2 mid last year. Good news is that after many unsuccessful doctor visits here in Dubai, I finally went to a great STD clinic in Bali in December where the doctor explained to me that the redness is normal after the first outbreak of herpes 2, because it affects the nerves in the area as well (or so I understood),  so even after the outbreak heals, one may still experience the red color for a couple of years even. After 6 years apparently it gets restored. He was quite confident about it. I must say that now, 7 months later, it is much better than before. Not 100% yet, but way better. Btw I got checked for everything else, every possible STD, all good!

thank you for your detailed response, but do you have to have herpes to have the outbreaks cause I know I don't have herpes but I have a similar condition to the picture

Hi. When I went to the doctor (finally a doctor specialized in sexually transmitted diseases), he mentioned that the reason I was having the rashes was because of herpes 2. I do not know if people without herpes have the same symptoms though. All I can say is that now, years later, I've been totally cured from the rashes. Also haven't had a herpes outbreak in years. Hope you get well!

    hey guys

I have exactly same issue. red patch under for asking and some redness on the glans for 2 months now and it's not clearing,

painless but the more I think about it the tingling kicks in.. anyway my igg test was 4.0 and igt 1.09 (just under positive) but always had hsv1 so maybe the results are for this as it didn't determine the hsv type. have nothing else more typical for hsv2 on my genitals.

what you think, what can it be and how are you now. have your redness, patches gone away or u had some actual hsv2 outbrakes?
