Yes I have experienced this lower abdominal pain you've described. I had my first diverticulitis attack a month ago and it was severe ... perforated bowel and abscess. The abscess was located at the pit of my abdomen lying underneath the section of bowel. I kind of thought that's where that pain was coming from. But here's a new issue I've had that has me slightly baffled. I'm now on antibiotics for a month and the other day I have been plagued with a constant pain on the right side of my abdomen right at the hip area. It is discouraging because I've been healing enough from the initial diverticulitis attack that I've been off the pain pills. Now this "new" pain has me back on the meds just so I can walk or sit in a comfortable position. Has anyone else experienced this?
