Pale skin patches in glans and shaft penis

Almost one year ago I detected a small pale lump in my glans. No pain no swelling a bit of itching when appeared. Weeks passed and I went to the GP, after examination he said could be fungi so suggested improving hygiene and using anti fungi ointment. After a month of treatment lump went away.

A couple of weeks later, the same lump appeared plus a long white patch on the right side of the shaft of my penis. I repeated treatment, but did not work so I wrote to the sexual health specialist and they said I could use a stronger ointment. Followed the treatment and again, it went away for a couple of weeks but came back afterwards bigger than before. So I went to the sexual specialist and they recommended a treatment with dermovat ointment and took a skin sample of the lump. The treatment worked for 2 months until I received the test results and now everything is confusing. Because the specialist that recommended dermovat told me that she thinks is some kind of lichen but the test says it's a non cancerigenous condiloma (which means is papiloma virus?). And precisely one week after receiving the results I felt the penis skin sensitive, itching and swollen and 2 days later the same lump and long pale skin are back bigger than before.

The thing is that I don't trust the papiloma result, is not coherent with my symptoms or the appearance of the skin. Now I'm wondering if it could be some kind of allergy. Any ideas of what could this be?

from what i understand there can be links between LS and hpv but, that is not what hpv looks like, however maybe they detected it in the sample if that is what it says. however it very much looks like what so many people on this forum report as lichen sclerosis which should really be treated properly, treatment often includes circumcision if you are not circumcised and stong steroid treatment.

i wish you well as it seems to be difficult to treat and stopping it in its tracks seems to be very important.

    best wishes to you
