Palpating my column in the lumbar area feels weird, is freaking me out!

Im copying what I posted in another thread, since I think I did it in the wrong section.

2 days ago especially when I wake up I noticed that when I palpate my lumbar area I feel that a layer of some liquid moves, like a gel, by the presure of my hand, after touching enough the liquid is not noticeable anymore and becomes a normal feeling, why could this be? Right now is not noticeable, as I mentioned it seems it accumulates usually when I sleep. Its the first time I feel that and dont know if this is normal, since I just casually touched there and it doesnt hurt.

I should also mention that I started lifting weights and sometimes feel some pain in my column but is not too bad. Im already appointed with a doctor, but is in 3 days and the curosity is killing me, also dont know if I should stop lifting weights.

I would stop lifting weights !! It's a good idea to do as little as possible till you go see doctor or get a MRI to see if there is any damage or anything going bad in that area !! It does seem strange to me is the gel like liquid between the skin and the muscles or does it go deeper than that ? Are you having any type of numbness or pain in either leg hips or back ? And have you ever had this type of problem before or have you ever had back surgery for anything else ? Sorry trying to figure out what it could be that's why I'm asking so many questions !! Hope all is going ok please if it does get worse go to a hospital dont wait and please don't lift till you figure out what is wrong could make things worse for you !!!

No problem, I will gladly answer your questions.

Yes, exactly, it is between my muscles and skin (not IN my muscles nor skin), and doesnt go deeper than that.

No numbness nor pain in normal conditions, just some pain when lifting heavy weights in my back (lumbar)

Never had this problem before and didnt have a surgery before.

Skipped workout yesterday and today waiting for the doctor appointment, will update.

Hello Diego I would go along with what Roger says, that you would be best to stop lifting weights until you have seen a GP who will decide weather you need a MRI scan or see a specialist. It does sound strange what your experiencing and I would be caustious until Its checked. Your spine holds your whole body up and you don't want to cause any damage to It. I suffer with my back and beleive me you don't want to cause any problems. Please wait till you have It checked.
