When you feel as if your heart skips beats, it doesn't actually do that. It does several small extra beats that feels like a gap. its quite normal and many people have them. i have them and i was worried. i think that made it worse but, once I'd had a 24 hour ECG and was told that it was nothing to worry about, i stopped worrying and i feel them much less often mow. Ive been on Amitryptaline 20-30mgs for 12 years due to a spinal cord injury that, despite surgery still left me with some pain. The extra heart beats aren't linked to the drug as far as i know because Ive been having them long before i had my spinal cord injury. Just don't worry about it. Relax and it'll get better.

Amitriptyline will cause palputations and irregular heart beat. it did that to me and i let it go until i literally couldnt breathe and the heart flutters were do bad i would almost pass out. please please consult with your doctor if you havent already done so. i saw a cardiologist and he told me to stop taking the amitriptyline imediately because it caused my heart to go into V-Tach. since i stopped taking the medicine, cold turkey, on 2-6-19, the flutters have almost stopped and i can breathe again. he also put me on a beta blocker to make my heart stronger and slow the heart rate. please seek help. i wish i never would have taken this evil drug
