Palpitations made worse by moving??

Hi. I have anxiety and am taking 20mg of Fluoxetine daily to help with that. Overall it’s been doing a good job. I still occasionally have panic attacks, always at night, triggered by over-tiredness, hunger, over exertion, and/or high stress. I’ve really come to learn my triggers and do all I can to help myself not have a panic attack usually. However, sometimes I push the limits and end up suffering for it. I recently had an attack caused by over exertion and possible hunger. I was going to bed later than normal after a long day and had probably eaten dinner too early for that bed time. The attack started and I tried to mentally calm myself by calling a friend, but my heart rate was up and I kept feeling what I will describe as fluttering. I’ve yet to find a doctor to tell me the name of what I experience. I wanted to post this question in the hopes someone can help me understand my symptoms better. In the panic attack state, and I’m laying down trying to relax/fall asleep, whenever I move my body, my heart rate goes up even higher. It’s unconfortable especially since I’m so tired at night. The panic makes me have to pee a lot so I end up having to move a lot which is so not fun. I feel like my heart is “sensitive”. Anyone else experience this. I’ve found that either falling asleep (if possible) or getting up and walking around have been the only things that help normalize my heart and neutralize the panic but I usually end up suffering for a while before things go back to normal.

Will try again, I have had panic disorder for many years. It is a kind of tachycardia you get when you are feeling panicky. The adrenaline you feel causes it. When you have worn that off by moving (=or shaking.all over like I used to do) Your heart goes back to normal.I am surprised your Dr does not tell you this. Did he give you extra medicine to take for break through panic? Ask for some. It is a horrific feeling. Mine is better ,but I have tried hard not to get over tired, or too hungry as you said. That does seem to trigger it. (=many other things too) I go to a therapist and do self hypnosis tapes everyday with relaxation . Really helps. Take care, hope this helps. Go back to Dr or therapist. No way to live. You can get better. God bless, Mabel
