Palpitations nearly killed me

Hi all,

I usually get small heart flutters that i feel in my chest but today was crazy. I was walking out of my car and I had a really hard heart flutter where it felt like my heard pounded and flopped around in my chest for a few seconds and then stopped beating. Right after this happened my heart rate started racing and I become very scared. This cannot be normal. Just a quick background. I am a 22 year ole male and I have been dealing with skipped beats since I was 14 years old. I have been to 4 cardiologists and have had 3 echocardiograms, heart monitors, X-rays, EKGs, and Stress tests done. All of them say that my heart is perfectly normal but I cannot believe that symptoms like these are normal at all. Please does this happen to anyone else?

If incidents like that don't show up when you are being examined, there is an implantable device that can record them so physicians can get the information later. I use a portable electrocardiogram from EMAY that cost about $80 US, so I can quickly record my infrequent incidents and then print a report to show my physician. Other thoughts are to try to sort out any caffeine use, dehydration, spices, alcohol and other possible factors that precede the incident(s). Physicians seem to regard some of these irregular patterns as random, but there are some known triggers one can discover.
