I have only recently been talking about this. No but I do get it before.

I quite often get pain after. It's just intestinal spasms from moving everything along

I was also wondering if laxatives play a part of this - I take Lactalose, and just curious.  I was also prescribed a drug called Costello, but found if far too effective, with a lot more pain.

Yes. Started few months ago. I Had IBS symptoms and doctor recommended flax seed. I Had flax seed for a week and the day I stopped this pain after bm started. it has been there since then everyday. Subsides in about 2 to 3 hours.

Flax seed works for me so just goes to show how we are all different

So  true that we are all different, and our systems react differently to everything.  I think I will give flax seed a try, as it seems to make sense.

My daughter's friend, who is a fellow-sufferer from IBS,  gave me a recipe that I think I'll try - oatmeal cereal and add flax seeds, hemp hearts, wheat germ, chia seed. I know this is NOT a recipe site, but perhaps this will help. (Definitely worth a try - the flax seed sounds promising, but don't know about the hemp hearts, wheat germ and chia seeds!!)

I find the pain in the morning the most excruciating, and definitely will give flax a try this morning.  IBS can sure mess up your life.

That part is the worst of IBS -  horrible pain, that spreads throughout my body.  Another post suggested adding flax seeds to food helps.  I've tried that today, and guess I'll hope for the best!
