I know what you mean about the pain. its head doing. and people who haven't had or got pancreatitis don't understand.

it seems daft but I find drinking coffee and tea helps  and when I drink water it sets the bugger off.

I had a level three going on four during my attack.  its seems to be that a lot of the advice on recovery from the NHS is for people who suffer from a mild or less attack. as they haven't researched it properly they don't have the answers.

a fact I point out to alot of people is the hospital work om gallstones or alcohol and after that they have no clue. After three weeks your discharged and put under the gp who doesn't want you to go to the consultants or hospital because there practice pays for you to go. my gp told me this thats why they rather give you tablets and send you home so you have to fight for answers.

Do you follow the four small meals a day and 5 to 12 per cent fat diet.

i do keep with low fat but if I fancy something I do tend to eat it because I don't want to lose to much weight.. I find I can eat more in the mornings. Just now I had fruit but I just don't feel hungry

I tend to have some biscuits in the morning.  then dinner a cup of soup or three slices of bread. tea is a childs size portion and supper is what ever I fancy toast biscuits or home made buns etc. it has kept my wieght on an even keel after I lost 5and half stone. my gp said stuff the bmi everyones is different just let your body decided by sticking to the same pattern. to be honest my pain gets worse after tea and going to bed

Hi there your diet is the treatment for cp there is nothing a doctor can do when it is damaged so everybody is on ther own, caffine stimulates the pancrease suger fat  can do that too at the end of the day your suppose to eat fruit and only veg because there no fat or caffeine in that and becauce the pancrease has shrunk we need lot of water even if weir not dry  any food that triggers pain you avoid that and so on

I find cafft settles it. I was in hospital with two chaps who had more attacks than me. and they told me more than the doctors.  even they agree tea and coffee helps. I ve tried the full on diet and to be honest I was worst just as the chaps said I would.  now I just follow the simple 5 to twelve per cent fat diet four small meals a day. and a treat once a blue moon.
