Hi,

Hoping someone can help me. I am 27 and have been suffering with constant upper left bain pain since Jan this year. I have been backwards and forwards to my GP and was referred to physiotherapy which did not help. I have been in A&E twice as a result of the pain. I am due for bloodtests and abdominal scans in the following weeks after reading up about my symptoms on google and telling my GP. The past 2 months I have been suffering from abdominal pain which lasts a few days. At first I thought perhaps it could be gallstones but have come to learn that upper back pain is felt on the right isnt constant and abdominal pain doesnt last days where as pancreatitis the pain is felt on the left and pain lasts for days. I also suffer with frequent urination and itchy skin as of the last week. I am really depressed and absolutely petrified that I have pancreatic cancer that it is really effecting my day to day life. I also read depression is a symptom of pancreatic cancer and I have been suffering with bouts of depression as if I know Im dying. Can anyone please tell me the symptoms they have experienced with these 3 diseases.

    Hi ashlea18819,

I have my main Pancreatic duct from head to tail is blocked and i live in constant pain, my pain in upper right quandrant and it goes all the threw to my back. Are they telling you your lab results ? Are going to see a Gastroentologist ? Regular Md is okay for your pain relief but you need to take the next step. I live in Iowa and currently being seen in Chicago and i have had over 20 ERCP in the last 12 yrs. Get a good well know Gastroentologist and i would advise you to keep your medical records so you personally can read the reports, you would be surprised as to what the Dr. isn't telling you. All your symptoms even the itching is and indicator that you are having Pancreas issues !! I wish you the best of luck !!

     Hi,

?Try not to get ahead of things too much. With all I have read about this some times you can have a bout and never have it again. It sounds like this may be your first time with this problem, so maybe there is more hope for you than you think. Do you watch your diet, and cut down on fats and the things you should with this problem? That could help some of your pain. Also stress is not good, so you need to try to calm down some if you can.

?I have had a diseased  pancreas. I had it all my life and didn't know it. As a child, just stomach aches. Then I started having bad bouts before I turned 18. Going to the ER never helped. They did come up with a bad gall bladder and it was removed about 30 yrs ago. I was 68yrs old before finding out. Finally I was at the ER and they did a blood test that told them my pancreas was inflamed. They put me on meds and told me I needed it checked out. I live in Maryland, so I went to John Hopkins. Yes, it is very scary, no way around that. Make sure you don't get sent away with no answers, as they did to me thru the years. Today they know a lot more than they use to about the pancreas and I am hoping for you that you will not be too bad. They told me mine could turn into cancer, and my brother passed with it at 52yrs of age. He had never had a problem thru his life as I did at all.

?Do you have any good hospitals around where you live that deal with the Pancreas? We have a couple in our area here. There is a Pancreas Foundation you should be able to find on the web, that's only been going a few years now. You may find it interesting. I think between your gall bladder and pancreas your pain can kind of run together some. After they took out my gall bladder, I told them I was still hurting, but not as bad. as time went on I got worse. My story sounds a little mixed up here I think, but I'm trying to make it short. I am 76 now and still suffering. As I said I hope you will not be so bad, as what ever the problem is you are going to catch it now, and they have learn so much more in the last 10 to 20 years about that so unknown little organ in there. Good Luck and let us know how thing s are going!
