I'm sorry to say that chronic pancreatitis hurts a lot, even if you don't have cancer. For now, don't worry about cancer. What's important first is getting relief for your current symptoms.

What do you typically eat in a day? The recommended diet is low fat, high protein, low spices. Eating fast food, junk food, or fried food will hurt your system. Drinking alcohol is very dangerous. Start keeping a food journal to see if specific foods might be triggering an attack.

Do you take digestive enzymes, like CREON or ZenPep? If not, ask your gastroenterologist for a prescription.

If you are feeling a burning sensation, that might be gastritis, which can be treated with proton pump inhibitors, like Omeprazole or Pantoprazole. Go to the emergency room if you are in real pain or if you can't get in to see a doctor soon. Gastritis can set off strong attacks and can be quite painful.

A heating pad and not overexerting yourself may help. For pain, use Tylenol (no more than 3000 mg/day) to start with. I also take medication like Amitriptyline and Gabapentin to help with nerve pain.

I would also suggest you get a new gastroenterologist who specializes in pancreatitis. It sounds like yours is not addressing your concerns.

Good luck, and hang in there. Let's see if you can get your gastritis and diet under control first. You can do this.

    Dear Christopher,

I am so sorry you are having these symptoms you describe and that are worrying so much.

2018 had been a terrible year for myself, having had a wide range of symptoms similar to the ones you describe.

I used to have pain in the center of my shoulders, pain at the right of my stomach, erratic bowel habits, lots of trapped air that was coming out mainly from the "back" door, floating stools and so on.

In the end, it turned out to be small gallstones in my gallbladder, that eventually have been removed with a prescription drug I took for 6 months.

You can find more info in my previous posts.

I want to tell you that I was aware of the small gallstones, but still worried so much that I went almost insane. I spent hours looking for symptoms online, to the point I became less productive at work.

Therapy helped me dealing with anxiety that played a massive role in how bad I felt and probably also on my symptoms.

That being said, I had a CT scan specifically for my pancreas, that resulted negative. That is when I started recovering from my symptoms.

Listen to your doctor, change it if you don't trust him/her, and try to deal with your fears/anxieties.

I am available for talking it further if you wish.

hi yes pretty much the same. Pain between shoulder blades and also had both left and right ribs pains. my stomach used to hurt especially at night. I am now convinced that it was much due to anxiety.

try to stay calm, trust your docs, make another visit if that makes you feel bwtter but dont end up in the loop of symptmoms/google/worry/more symptoms...

Very unlikely it is pancreatic cancer. I promise you your anxiety is amplifying your symptoms.

I think you need to address your anxiety with your GP.

There are many thing it could be that are not life threatening.
