Pancreatic cyst

Hi

i was just diagnosed with a 1.9cm pancreatic cyst in the head.I'm scheduled for an EUS FNA in a few weeks. I'm looking for others who have been diagnosed with pancreatic cysts Its a scary place for me right now

btw - no history of pancreatitis but was a heavy nightly wine drinker for several years i do not drink alcohol today

    I was also diagnosed with a 4.6cm x 4.2cm pseudocyst and this was about 2 months ago... I'm seeing a specialist here in Ireland and was recently put onto Creon with a serious amount of weight loss. its 5 years since my diagnosis and things have certainly changed for me.

    I was a heavy drinker and smoker but I have stopped now. To be fair I have had the odd drink maybe at a big celebration or once every 3 months - but after talking to a pancreatic specialist I will not even indulge in anything alcoholic anymore. From my last CT scan it was consistent with Chronic Pancreatitis and I really have to manage this better as I also have developed Diabetes too. I honestly feel your pain and know how difficult it is when we were all used to a few drinks etc a night time.

    I'd be interested to know more about your story. I'm 41 and Irish so you can imagine I've managed to live up to the stigma of us Irish folks...

    Anyway looking forward to your reply.

      thank you for your reply.my cyst was found on a CT scan that was done to look at issues i was having in the pelvis area . the scan was clean with the exception of this incidental cyst that was found.

      I've never had a bout of pancreatitis.i was mostly a heavy wine drinker for years up to 2014, heavy was a bottle to a bottle and a half nightly. stopped in 2014, then picked up the wine again in 2018 nightly but only 1 and 1/2 glass a night. I have since stopped all together after the cyst was found . the Dr wants to proceed forward with the EUS FNA because he doenst think the cyst is alcohol related

    Hello,

    I'm in two Facebook groups: Living With Pancreatitis and Distal Pancreatectomy / Splenectomy. I know that there are a number of folks there who have had NET or IPNM cysts. You might consider joining to get additional responses. I'm afraid I don't have any expertise in this area.
